CERBERUS SPELAEOLOGICAL SOCIETY
Cerberus maintains a reputation for being a friendly club and new members are always welcome. If you are actively caving at the moment and would benefit from what a club has to offer then get in contact. Whatever level you already cave at, you will be more than welcome. If you haven't been caving but would like to go, likewise get in contact - we will do our best to help.
The annual subscription for full members is £45. Spouses of members and partners residing at the same address, and their children under the age of 18 and in full time education, may join at a discounted rate. Reduced subscriptions are also are payable for anyone whilst unemployed or in full time education. A high proportion of the subscription goes toward the provision of civil liability insurance cover.
To participate in any club activities individuals are required to have civil liability insurance cover. This cover is available with Provisional Membership of the Society which costs £20 and is valid for 3 months. At the end of this period, or before if you so wish, it is possible to convert to full membership upon payment of the balance of the subscription. Provisional membership entitles one to attend club trips but without any of the other benefits of full membership, and is not renewable.
An option is also available to join the Cerberus Mountaineering Group which is affiliated to the British Mountaineering Council. There are a number of benefits specific to members of the group including civil liability insurance cover for walking, mountaineering and climbing activities, equipment discounts, access to climbing huts, reduced rate subscription to High magazine etc. Members of the Group also receive a copy of ‘Summit’, a high quality glossy magazine for BMC members. Membership of the Mountaineering Section costs an additional £10. It is possible to upgrade to full BMC membership for an additional charge (payable direct to BMC) making a considerable saving on the normal individual fee.
